The Mustard Seed Cafe started in 2013 with a clear mission: feed hungry people and care for their hearts. In that spirit, it has grown into something much bigger than a kitchen. Out back sits a 7,000-square-foot community garden, known as Amigos Garden, where the cafe grows fresh produce year-round that goes directly onto the plates inside. Alongside the harvest, the cafe runs gardening and composting education classes for children and adults, turning a meal into a door to learning about where food comes from.

For El Paso families who have walked through that door, the impact runs deep. Mother-daughter volunteers Erin and Lennon Mendoza found the cafe during a painful adoption journey. What they discovered was not just a place to help but a support system of genuine friendships built over shared work and shared meals.
